What is plan:

Create a new plan

Select “+ New Plan” to start a new plan. A side panel will open that would ask for the plan name and description.

Update Plan details (Edit)

Click on the action icon (…) at the end of the row. This will open up the options for a plan. You can see the edit option to update the details of the plan. To go inside the plan, click on the plan name.

How to start working on the plan?

Once you have created the plan (with name and description), you would be able to see it listed in Plans section. To get started with working on the plan, please click on the plan name. This will open up the plan details with Tabs for KPIs, Events, User Traits and Group traits.

Commit Changes / create a new plan version?

When you work on the plan, all the changes are saved as uncommitted changes. These changes are not directly published on the input stream. For the Plan to take effect, the user needs to commit the changes and create a new version. This new version can then be applied to an input source. A red mark on the “commit” column indicates that there are uncommitted changes in the plan.

To commit the changes, click on the action Icon (…) at the end of the row and you would have versions option. Click on that to find the uncommitted changes and commit options.

What is meant by publishing a plan?

Publishing a plan is synonymous with applying a data schema on an input source. To apply the data schema defined in the plan, the user needs to publish the plan explicitly on a source. This ensures that any updates in the plan do not break the existing monitoring.

Click on publish to get the following screen.

If there are no sources connected to Kaliper, the above list would be empty. Please set a source to publish the plan. click here to find out how to add sources.

Download the plan

You can download the plan in excel format with each tab as a different sheet. Click on the action icon (…) at the end of the row in the plan list. There is an “export” option, this downloads the excel file on local machine.
